mamie was officially launched in 2003 by eve reinman. not a newcomer to fashion, eve studied textiles and apparel at cornell university and worked as a designer in new york city for three years before starting “mamie."

one summer day in 2003, eve was in a yarn store and was so inspired by some of the fabulous yarns that she learned to knit that day and produced the very first hand knit “mamie” purse. after receiving tremendous feedback for her handbags, eve decided to expand her line to include intricately beaded bags and belts. all “mamie” pieces are handmade for a one-of-a-kind feeling.

since she grew up surrounded by antiques, it was only fitting for eve to use beautiful vintage pieces as the inspiration for her collection. what better name to call this vintage-inspired line than “mamie,” her nickname for her grandmothers as a child.
